Akshaya Tritiya Gold buying frenzy in pics in Singapore

Here are some of the pics and a video that I shot on Akshaya Tritiya day (April 24th 2012) in Mustafa Singapore where people were buying gold. Btw, Mustafa is one of the biggest shopping malls in Singapore. I was part of the crowd as well ;-) ...had to wait nearly 20 minutes in a queue (!) to buy gold.

And, see this video clip to believe...

    1. You right. Many avoid the gold shops on this particular day. My pleasure and glad you like it.

  7. Oh my goodness you braved the madness on Akshaya Trithiya-- RESPECT. I've lived in Singapore my whole life and even I don't have the guts to join that rush- for a few ugly pieces of jewelry that I would never wear.

    1. Yep. I braved the crowd. Thank you and you are 100 per cent right. Every time I buy few grams of gold in a coin form which promptly goes into a safe. Plus you have to pay a 7 per cent GST that will take few months or years to recover!
