Recent Two Stories On Legal Luminaries In India

For the benefit of readers who may have missed two recent stories in India.

Unlike a movie story, in real life there is no - King can become pauper and Pauper can become King. The guys in both the stories will bounce back into prime positions after a brief hiatus. My post can be re-visited during such times.

The first story which is trending on almost all TV channels in India and the Internet at this point in time:

Pattabhi Rama Rao :

Who is Pattabhi Rama Rao?

He was the CBI special judge. Pattabhi Rama Rao was hearing the Obulapuram Mining scam case and on May 11th granted bail to the prime accused Gali Janardhan Reddy.

Why is he in news?

On 1st June 2012, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Justice has suspended the Special CBI Judge Pattabhi Rama Rao for alleged irregularities.

How much is the bribe money involved in this controversy?

Alleged to be around Rs. 10 crores out of which an amount of approximately Rs. 3 crore recovered from the locker being operated by his son from Ashok Nagar branch of Bank of Baroda, Hyderabad.

The related Youtube video from IBN Live is embedded here:

Abhishek Manu Singhvi:

Who is Abhishek Manu Singhvi?

Why was he in news?

His ex-driver Mukesh Lal, with a hidden cam, recorded a controversial CD consisting of alleged sexual acts of Manu Singhi with a lady lawyer who alleged to be seeking a Judge position.

Manu Singhvi settled the story with his driver and all the news channels, Youtube were asked to remove this objectionable content.

The sex scandal video went viral on TV channels and on the internet in India. Those interested can see it with a simple google search.
