Travel Report - Beijing - tour of TheGreatWallOfChina in Pics

Ming Tombs:

Badaling section of the Great Wall Of China, which is closest to Beijing and apparently, better  maintained to climb. However, the climb is pretty tough with long steps in some sections and just high gradient plain floor in some sections. It is worth the experience. No wonder Great wall of China is one of the seven wonders of the world.

See the steep gradient in the pics below:

    1. Thanks for stopping by. Now China is much more easier for tourists. The tourist guides speak excellent English. However, moving around in interior areas is not advisable for tourists like us. The hotel concierge normally provide chinese characters for any place that you would like to visit. Hope this helps.

  4. Awesome ! I like the 34th photograph which gives a 'perspective' of GWC !

BTW, with so many modern tourists around, could you get the 'historical angle' in your mind ? :-)

Thanks for the offer to use the photographs. I will publish this to G+.

    1. Thanks Vijay. Really appreciate it.

Actually, when you are at the GWC, the feeling is different. It so tough to climb, you literally forget about everyone around you and start thinking about how these structures were built with unbelievable awe. At some place the gradient is so steep, even the most strongest will pause after climbing few hundred feet. Truly it is a memorable experience.

    2. Vijay, Frankly I didn't count while posting the pics. Now that you mentioned about the 34th photo, I counted the number and felt you were right. The 34th Pic gives a very nice perspective of GWC.
